Getting Started with Kakao Message

Follow the guide below to get started with Kakao Message campaigns quickly.

1. Personal Data Processing Agreement

Hackle will collect and use users' mobile phone numbers, which constitute personal information of your customers. You must complete the following steps in accordance with the Personal Information Protection Act before sending messages.

  1. Execute a personal data processing agreement between your company and Hackle. If your company has an internal personal data processing agreement template, use that form; otherwise, use Hackle's template.

  2. Add the following content under the personal data processing delegation section in your company's Privacy Policy. Example wording: Recipient — Hackle Inc. | Purpose — Sending personalized CRM campaigns based on user behavior and data analysis | Retention Period — Until contract termination

2. KakaoTalk Channel Registration

You must register the KakaoTalk Channel operated by your company in the Hackle workspace. Only Business Channels can be registered. For details, please refer to the KakaoTalk Channel Integration documentation.

3. Credit Top-up

A separate sending cost is incurred when sending Kakao Messages. Top up credits to send Kakao Messages. For details, please refer to the Message Pricing documentation.

4. Phone Number Collection

Kakao Messages are sent based on the recipient's phone number, so you need to collect users' phone numbers. For details, please refer to the Phone Number Collection documentation.

5. Brand Message Application

Brand Message, newly launched in 2025, can be used when the following conditions are met: 1) 50,000+ channel friends, 2) recent Alimtalk send history, and 3) marketing subscription consent documentation, among other conditions. You can easily apply for Brand Message from the Hackle Dashboard.
